Amy Risner
President
"I was first exposed to Human Resources through a high school business program where I was assigned to be the VP of HR based on my personality. Through this program, I learned about both the people and admin side of HR and I developed a passion for it. Employees are the heart of any organization and I believe HR is an essential part of caring for employees which is what drew me to this field."
Joe Kyaw
VP & Director of Outreach
"Back in high school, my friends called me the mediator of the group. Whenever there was a silly teenage conflict situation, I was the go-to person to be the middleman at resolving disputes. A lot of HR professionals will say they were gravitated towards the HR field because they love people. Don’t get me wrong, that still holds true for me as well. But, do you want to know what’s more rewarding than loving people? It’s loving bringing people together."
Tyon James
VP & Director of Marketing
"It was not until freshman year of high school that I began to understand the nature of HR. I had the privilege of interning at a global fixed-income firm and quickly learned how critical the HR department was to the company's day-to-day operations. I saw firsthand the power HR professionals wielded in fostering a fair, inclusive, and positive company culture for its talent pool. This turning point led me to pursue a professional career in HR with the hopes of continuing on the path of positively shifting organizational culture."
Estefania Lemus
Director Administration
"I gravitated toward the HR field because it is filled with an abundance of opportunities. I like how you can go into a variety of fields like recruitment, benefits, compensation, payroll, worker’s compensation, etc. The great thing about HR is that it is in every industry out there, every company needs it! Since I am a people person- this is the career for me as one of the main focuses is to fight for employee rights and create/maintain an environment that is comfortable for everyone."
